Embody Fitness have partnered with Chamonix Hard Cross and we have designed a 5-night event mixing a luxury chalet holiday with an exhilarating bootcamp trail challenge that takes place on the iconic route of the Tour du Mont Blanc.

The camp is designed to allow the participants to switch off from London life completely, to work hard during the days on the mountain trails, but relax in utter luxury in the afternoons and evenings.  The challenge is tough but achievable and our lead guide for the event is World-record holding ultra-trail marathon runner and International Mountain Leader, Emilie Lecomte.

The Physical Challenge

We will follow the mountain trails from Chamonix to Courmayeur, spending one night in Chapieux en route. It is a stunning trail passing under the summit of Mont Blanc and Dome du Miage, through France until we hit the Italian border.  When we enter the Val Ferret in Italy we get the most spectacular views of the Mont Blanc and the Grands Jorasses all the way to Courmayeur.  We will hit an average c.2000m altitude per day which will test our strength and stamina, but by not exceeding 2500m of altitude, at any time we remove the “lottery” element that exists with high mountains such as Kilimanjaro. The pace is determined by the group with Emilie ensuring we cover the distances within the time frame.

Accommodation and Food

Our “base camp” in Chamonix is a wonderful, luxury chalet just 5 minutes walk from the main centre.  It is a stunning mix of traditional and modern open plan living and has an outdoor jacuzzi on the sun deck, with a sauna in the chalet.

The food menu is designed by Matt Lovell to give perfect balance for the physical challenge. Delivered by our own chef who will be cooking fresh in the chalet, advised by our resident nutritionist Alison Stork who is on hand to ensure all nutritional questions are answered.  Three meals per day with breakfast and dinner in the chalet, lunch on the trail.

Massage is available every day in the chalet (not on the trail!) and we have an excellent partner for this who offers us a special reduced rate.
